Armed Robbers Disguised as Women Arrested in Ibadan
Police authorities in Ibadan have arrested a gang of robbers notorious for dressing up as women and robbing people.
The
robbers are described as having feminine faces beautified by make-up,
and long weave-on hairstyles that fall on their broad shoulders,
according to Vanguard.
When they
were arrested and taken to a police station in Eleiyele, Ibadan,
many curious people arrived to catch a glimpse of the infamous
“beautiful robbers,” and were reportedly astonished that they were
indeed men.
Among the robbers are: Lawal Kabir, Omooba Oyewole, Ayodele Olaitan, Biola Alaba, Dolapo Olayinka, and Yusuf Ibrahim.
They were
said to have snatched many cars from their victims, as well as other
items on numerous occasions in Ibadan, Osun, Sawmill, Iyana-Agbala, and
other regions.
During their confessions, some of the men stated why they the conducted illegal acts.
Kabir said he was pushed into crime because of his struggling business. “I took to robbery when my plumbing work was not booming.”
He also mentioned that he doesn’t rob on Fridays and during Ramadan, as he uses those days to pray to God for forgiveness.
Alaba confessed to robbing, but not killing his victims.
“How
can I commit two sins at the same time. I cannot rob and kill at the
same time. It is unfair to rob someone of his belongings and kill him.
We don’t even rape our victims.”
