Man Arrested for “Playing Boko Haram”, Sending False Alarms about Bombings
Security
operatives in Abuja have arrested a man accused of creating panic by
sending phony text messages threatening people about impending Boko
Haram attacks.
Ugwu Lawrence, the suspect, reportedly confessed to the crime after being traced and arrested by security agents, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters reports.
He was nabbed after sending text messages warning people about future bombings of some hotels in Abuja.
Lawrence
reportedly said he dispatched the fake text messages as an act of
revenge towards one of the companies that refused to offer him
employment.
The case is currently under investigation.
