Gunmen Attack UNILAG, Final Year Undergrad Shot
A final year student of Philosophy of the University of Lagos, identified as Sapara, was shot by unknown gunmen.

reports that some yet to be identified gunmen on Monday invaded the
King Jaja Hall area of the institution and shot at students.
The men are rumoured to be cultists and
the reason for attack is yet to be known. An eyewitness revealed to the
publication that Sapara was shot by the side of his head and his face
was covered in blood.
Sapara was immediately rushed to LUTH – Lagos University Teaching Hospital,
Idi-Araba, where he is now in stable condition.Students who were
sitting for their exams, ran in different directions after they heard
the gunshot.
The Dean of Students’ Affairs of the Institution Prof. Olukayode Amund confirmed that the student was shot and is currently recuperating in LUTH.

“The events surrounding the incident are
still shrouded in mystery and by the time we conclude our
investigation, the university authorities will take the necessary and
appropriate action. Our security operatives are working very hard to
unravel the mystery and whoever is responsible will be held to account.”
he said.
Olukayode also hinted that the attack
could have been by cultists. Students have since resumed activities and
are writing their exams.
