See Yaya DaCosta as Whitney Houston for Biopic

When America’s Next Top Model alum Yaya DaCosta snagged the role of a lifetime – to play Whitney Houston in the Angela Bassett-directed Lifetime Network production, a lot of fans waited in anticipation to get a first look of her portraying the R&B/soul diva.

And Entertainment Weekly presents the world with the first look.

Yaya is seen with big brown curls, a giant smile and a white tank top, just like on the cover of Whitney’s self titled 1987 album.

On perfecting the look, Yaya says it was an easy one, she just looked at the iconic cover art and posed for the cameras.

Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina wanted to play her mother, she slammed Angela Bassett for not considering her.
